Steel, High Carbon & Galvanized Wire Cloth & Wire Mesh Screen

Material Overview

Steel is a relatively low-cost, high strength metal for many general applications.  Small variations in carbon content create materials with a variety of useful wire cloth and wire mesh screen applications.

Cleveland Wire Cloth normally specifies carbon steels to ASTM A510

Low carbon steels C1006-C1010 are the most common.

High carbon steels offer increased strength and abrasion resistance, they are usually selected for aggregate sizing and sifting applications.

Galvanizing plain steel wire offers additional protection against corrosion.  We start off with steel wire per ASTM A510, and then galvanize per  ASTM A641-09a, (CLASS 1)
