UNS S31600
316 SS wire mesh is heat resistant and contains molybdenum for superior resistance to general corrosion. 316 stainless steel wire mesh screen is particularly resistant to pitting by solutions containing chloride ions, phosphoric acid, acetic acid, sea water, and other conditions where particles are deposited on the metal surface. Can be used at temperatures up to 1600°F. Type 316 or T-316 is nonmagnetic in the annealed, and slightly magnetic when cold worked. 316 SS wire mesh screen is widely used in chemical, food, pharmaceutical, medical, refining, power plant, aircraft, photographic, textile, paper equipment and strainers.
Next to 304 SS, Type 316 SS wire cloth is the second most popular stainless steel used in weaving wire cloth.
